Primary Care Asthma Program (PCAP)
The Primary Care Asthma Program (PCAP) is for any person with a confirmed diagnosis of asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) to learn how to better self-manage their condition. It consists of assessment, education, the development of an action plan, and follow-up care.
Clients are followed by a Registered Respiratory Therapist/Certified Respiratory Educator (CRE) to help them learn to identify symptoms, manage medications, and master proper medication device and breathing techniques.
Monday to Friday at the Rosemount Branch
Please note that in addition to the services above, spirometry (breathing test) can be provided to clients registered to any community health centre physician or nurse practitioner in Ottawa and its surrounding areas.
